What's inside the Slimelight ?
There are now 3 levels in the Electrowerkz building, and Slimelight uses level 2 and level 3 (often called upstairs and downstairs!), each level having a dance floor, a bar, and toilets. Level 1 is more often than not hired out as a separate club venue on Saturday nights.
Level one is on the left hand side directly after the main entrance / reception and this is usually blocked off to Slimelight attendees except in the case of 3 floor specials.
If you walk up the main flight of stairs directly in front of you after the entrance / reception area, you'll find level 2 on the right hand side on the landing. You enter through a set of double doors into the bar area. To the right are some toilets, in front of you is a seating area, and to the left is the bar. Past the bar is the huge dance floor...
If you carry on up the stairs from the landing you will enter level 3 through the double doors straight onto the dance floor. To the left is the stage for live bands, as well as a womens toilet. To the right is a seating area complete with a pool table. Further to the right through another set of double doors is the upstairs bar. Here you will find a bar, drinks machine and cigarette machine (as per downstairs) as well as a mens toilet. There is also a notice board in here which can be worth checking out for forthcoming gigs, people searching for house mates and so on.
Going through the coffee bar and out of the doors on the right hand side and down the steps takes you to the cloakroom where it's £1 per article.
